Can Sims 4 Run On Macbook Air
There are many other suitable options for a Sims 4 laptop out there, like the newer MacBook Pros (2014 onwards) and the MacBook Air (2015 onwards), which can run the game with pretty much all the expansions at low to medium graphics settings. Macbook Air is notorious for having slower graphics, which often make it impossible to run PC games that are quite demanding on hard drive and graphics. If you own both a Windows PC and Mac, but want to use your Macbook Air for gaming, you can stream the game via Steam’s in-home streaming feature, then use your Mac to do the actual playing.

Can you believe it? The Sims 4 is finally available for Macs! Getting the game up and running is simple, but there are just a few things you need to know.
You see, the Mac version of The Sims 4 is currently only available in digital form. That means, if you recently went to the store to buy a physical copy, you won’t be able to use that CD to install the game. Instead, you’ll have to install Origin, and download the game from there.
First, open up Safari or your web browser of choice and head to the origin.com/download page. Click on the tiny text that says “Download for Mac” underneath the orange button.
After installing and running the application, sign into Origin using your ID and Password. If you don’t have an Origin account at this point, you’ll have no choice but to create one.
If The Sims 4 doesn’t appear within the “My Games” tab, please do the following:
- Open up the boxed copy of The Sims 4, and find the product code.
- On Origin, click on “Origin” in the top left corner and click on “Redeem Product Code“
- Type in the Product Code to download the game.
If The Sims 4 appears within the “My Games” tab, please do the following:
- Click on The Sims 4.
- Click on the Download button to start the installation.
I'm thinking about buying and iMac, I'm also a hardcore fan or the Sims series so I'm just wondering if it could run the sims games + a bunch of custom content?
Yes
With that kind of money, you could just buy an actual gaming laptop to play it on (with better hardware to boot).
As long as you meet the minimum requirements specified here. Then it will run fine - https://www.thesims.com/en_GB/mac

As you didn't specify what iMac you actually have, I can't really give a yes or no answer.
The Sims 4 is also coming to PS4 / Xbox One in November. So if you have one of those, and your computer can't meet the min requirements online, i'd hold off buying it for mac, since you can't return PC games like you can for console.
though, there will be limited DLC at start for Sims 4 on console, so who knows when the expansions and other packs will arrive.
Yes.
